City of Monterrey2024

Mira+

A geospatial viewer that gives unified access to the City of Monterrey's data, letting residents interact with geographic information simply and accessibly, and making it easier to consult and analyse in one place.

About the project

A public geospatial visualisation platform built on Geonode, Vue 3 and Quasar, with OpenStreetMap as the base map. It lets residents explore the city's open data layers (urban planning, transport, public services, proactive transparency) straight from a browser. It was designed to open up data that previously lived in internal systems, promoting transparency and public use of territorial information.

Key features

  • Geospatial layer visualisation over OpenStreetMap
  • Filters by category: urban planning, transport, services, transparency
  • Attribute lookup for every element on the map
  • An interface designed for residents with no technical background
  • Integration with the city's Geonode ecosystem

My role on the project

Frontend Developer

  • Built Vue 3 + Quasar components for map visualisation
  • Integrated the Geonode API to consume layers and attributes
  • Optimised performance when rendering large datasets in the browser
